The Red Letters (Working Title)

I've just finished working on another screenplay entitled Red Letters. This one, in sticking with a low-country theme, has Folly Beach and Charleston as a backdrop. This one is a Thriller with a supernatural twist. Logline: A struggling young carpenter discovers an ancient African cane, the manifestation of the West African god Eshu, the trickster, which bestows upon him the gift of clairvoyance and changes his life forever.

Isaiah's Rest in the Charleston International Film Festival

We also found out this week that a new screenplay I wrote specifically for the Charleston International Film Festival has been selected as a finalist as well. This one is entitled Isaiah's Rest: An Edisto Ghost Story. The website is www.CharlestonIFF.org. The film festival is 24 - 28 April 2013. Logline: One hundred and twenty years after he was brutally murdered by a white plantation owner the ghost of a 12 year old slave boy, Isaiah, rises from the grave in the form of a merciless demon dog to exact revenge on the descendants of his killers.

Lucifer is in the Beaufort International Film Festival

There are a couple of recent developments on the writing front to let you know about.

The screenplay Lucifer has been selected as a finalist in the Beaufort Inetrnational Film Festival.

Logline: In a plot to save Mankind instead of destroy it, Lucifer offers three women the chance to bring forth the next Messiah, but to succeed he must reach them in time to save them from a brutal jihadist army in South Sudan.

These folks have been really good to work with and we're quite excited to be a part of this.
I've also given them 5 selected pages for a table read, so we're excited to see some actors bring at least part of this story to life.
